This is the first story in a series.

This series begins immediately after the end of season 1, and deviates slightly from the TV show from that point forward. Then, after the episode with the wish slime (you know the one), the series will jag into a different story line completely.

That wish slime is a real boon to us fan fiction authors, isn't it? So many have used it. And I will be using it, too, eventually. Buckle up.

In this series, Lewis does not suffocate Cleo and they do not break up, and Zane and Rikki never get back together. These plots are unimportant and would be distractions from the stories I wish to tell.

Charlotte doesn't exist in this series at all. This is an alternate time line with no place for her.

This series also assumes that all the scenes in the episode "Wrong Side of the Tracks" which revolve around Rikki actually took place in season 1, which they easily could have done. Just remove the ten seconds of story in which Zane knows the girls are mermaids, and all those scenes are otherwise unchanged. In this series, Rikki has already invited her friends to her house for that cookout.

I know nothing about investing money, or handling money. One look at my life would confirm this. So I leaned heavily on Google to make Harrison's dialogue as accurate as possible. If I get his dialogue wrong in any way, apologies; just pretend this story takes place in an alternate universe in which he is correct.

This first story consists of drama, introspection, learning, and growth. The remaining stories will have these things, but also include a lot of action and adventure.
